Make This Delicious Keto Coffee Every Morning To Boost Your Fasting Results

My morning keto coffee is one of the main strategies that have helped me enjoy intermittent fasting and not care about having not to eat until later in the day. I used to be such a breakfast person! Well, mostly because breakfast foods are often sweet and I enjoyed the sweet foods. So many things have changed! Trust me, if I can get over my breakfast cravings, you can too!

It takes time, and I started by allowing myself to have breakfast 2-3 days a week. Gradually, I didn’t even want it anymore. Now, I just love my keto coffee, I don’t want anything else!

Is Coffee Going to Break Your Fast?

Having coffee when fasting is not for everyone. Above all, listen to your body! I don’t know why, but it used to give me a headache in my thirties. It doesn’t anymore, I don’t really know why. Another point to consider is that your keto coffee will technically break your fast. If you want to make sure your fast is clean, you need to drink your coffee black.

However, I am not about being technical here! My goal is to help you lose weight, feel great, and heal your body. Read my article How To Make Sure You Can Drink Coffee When Intermittent Fasting if you need more guidance to decide if you should drink keto coffee during your fasting hours. Furthermore, you will find more recipes in the post if you want to experiment. I give you a chocolate coffee recipe, a cinnamon coffee recipe, and a Himalayan salt coffee recipe.

Keto Coffee Benefits

The two main benefits of drinking coffee during your fasting window are as follows:

  1. Coffee induces autophagy. You probably know by now that one of the main benefits of fasting is that it helps heal your body through a process called autophagy. In the absence of food, your body eats its own damaged cells and replaces them with new ones. Read What Is Autophagy and How to Induce It to learn more.
  2. Coffee helps reduce hunger. Fasting would be ten times harder if I couldn’t have my morning coffee! Often, I wake up feeling hungry, but after having my coffee, I feel energized and satisfied. Thank God for coffee!

These two reasons will facilitate your weight loss and boost your fasting results.

Keto Coffee Recipes

Let’s start with the basic keto coffee (or Bulletproof coffee). In my article How To Make Sure You Can Drink Coffee When Intermittent Fasting, I give you the most basic and common recipe. I made a slight change to the recipe since writing the article because I have learned about the gut healing benefits off grass-fed ghee.

Grass-fed ghee contains butyrate (or butyric acid), which contributes to healing leaky gut (learn more about butyrate and its benefits in Sources of Resistant Starch You Can Have Even If You Are on the Keto Diet.

Keto Coffee (Bulletproof Coffee)

This simple keto coffee recipe is delicious and sastifiying.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp grass-fed ghee
  • 1/4 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 tsp erythriol/monk fruit blend (optional)
  • 400 ml brewed coffee

Instructions:

  • Blend all the ingredients in a blender until frothy. Some people add MCT oil or coconut oil as well as ghee or butter. I prefer just using ghee for its gut-healing properties, taste, and simplicity. You do you, my friend!

Keto Iced Coffee

I have a barista at home. She is amazing and makes delicious coffees any time I ask her! One of her things is iced coffees. I never used to drink it until she started making them for me. Here’s a recipe you will enjoy:

  • 400 ml brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cream or full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 tsp erythritol/monk fruit blend (optional)

Mix all the ingredients in a nice big mug. You can chill the black coffee first or just use it hot, it will work too.

Keto Coffee Creamer

Lastly, I am going to share a simple keto coffee creamer recipe. Keep your keto coffee creamer in the fridge and use it as needed in your keto coffee or iced coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 rounded Tbsp keto-friendly sweetener (like the erythritol/monk fruit mix) optional
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Stir the ingredients in a Mason jar. Blend them in the blender if your full-fat coconut milk has chunks of coconut cream.
